If you don’t have time to travel to New York, don’t worry – the Winter Children’s Theater Production is bringing a splash of New York to Gilroy.
The cast of 67, from ages five to 25, will perform “Forever Broadway” beginning Friday, Jan. 14 to Jan. 30. The production will offer up a medley of 60 Broadway musical numbers from “Button up Your Overcoat” from the musical “Good News” to “Chicago’s” “Razzle Dazzle.”
Director John Bisceglie, known for his extravagant sets and over-the-top humor, promises another 5-star show to add to his 12-year run as director of the city’s children’s theater. The cast, he says, is ready to bring audience members to the edges of their seats with a lively blend of novel, creative interpretations.
The $11 tickets are available at the door, but they’re going fast. Call to reserve tickets soon to see a production this weekend – Friday’s show is sold out and Saturday is getting close. Already, 1,600 tickets have been sold. The performance is taking place in the Gilroy High School Theater on 750 West 10th St., which has a 275-seat capacity. But, Bisceglie says, “We want to accommodate everyone. We don’t want to turn away people.”
The performances are on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm and on Sundays at 2pm. You are in luck if you know a cast member. They each are selling 25 tickets at $10 a pop. Call (408) 846-8836 for more information or to make reservations.
