– yes!—There’s no doubt educators locally and throughout the
state were disappointed with Gov. Schwarzenegger’s budget plan that
provides a 2.2 percent increase in spending per student, but is
still $1.1 billion shy of what the public school system
Granted, your comments about retaining the best is in everyone’s interests, but please refer to Monday, January 24th San Jose Mercury News Op-Ed article about “Teacher merit pay misses” written by Merrill Vargo, currently the executive director of BASRC, a non-profit education reform organization and a former English teacher, for a valid argument as to why this isn’t such a simple issue.
