Mariachi Santa Cecilia

“An Evening of Mexican Music,” featuring Mariachi Santa Cecilia, will be held on Saturday at 8pm, at St. Mary’s Church. Cost is $15 for adults, $12 for seniors 60 and older and $7 for student 12 to 18.

Tickets are available at Porcella’s Music, The California Music Company, Carole’s Hallmark and Rosso’s Furniture in Gilroy; Dorothy McNett’s Place in Hollister; Booksmart, The Music Tree and Rosso’s Furniture in Morgan Hill; and Mission Gallery in San Juan Bautista.

Gavilan Joggers And Striders Running Club

Running Club meets at 8:15am every Saturday at Christmas Hill Park, near the entrance. Jog two to three miles including short track workout.

Biking Group

The Health Ministries Program of Gilroy Presbyterian Church is sponsoring a Biking Group every Saturday, at 8:30am, leaving from the parking lot by First Street Coffee House, located at the corner of First Street and Westwood Drive.

Friends of the Morgan Hill Library hold a used book sale on the first Saturday of the month from 10am to 5pm in the library meeting room, 17575 Peak Ave. in Morgan Hill.

Western Horse School

Mid Valley Saddle Club will host a “Western Schooling Horse Show” on Sunday, March 6 at Rascal Slough Ranch, 18639 August Ave. in Hilmar, with sign-ups at 8am and the show at 9am. This low-cost series of 30 classes features lesson in riding for showmanship, pleasure, equitation and trail.

Find Comfort In Grief

Griefshare, a grief recovery support group, holds weekly support group meetings at First Baptist Church, 8455 Wren Ave., from 7 to 9pm in the Choir room. Those grieving the loss of someone close can find comfort and encouragement from others who understand what they are experiencing and want to help through their difficult time.

Saint Louise Regional Hospital hosts Fibromyalgia Support Group meetings the first Monday of every month at 7pm in the hospital boardroom.

Grants For Giving

Starbucks Coffee Company, announced the launch of the 2005 Grants for Giving Program. All groups considered must be registered 501(c)3 eligible non-profit organizations with programs or projects designed to build better futures for youth and families.

Applications are due by 5pm on Friday, March 11.

Elks’ Fashion Show

The Gilroy Elks will hold their 42nd annual “Fashion Show” March 12. Tickets are $25 each and include lunch. All proceeds from the event will go to helping disabled children.
