United Methodist Church, 7600 Church St., will host a free musical concert at 7:30pm. American vintage cornet music and hand harmonica will be performed by Herman Schmalzried and Eunice Coates. Concert waltzes on the piano will be featured by Candace Fazzio.

Day Break Caregiver Support Group Meets

Day Break Caregiver Support Group meets every third Friday of the month in the Activity Room of Wheeler Manor, 651 W. Sixth. St., from 2 to 3:30pm. The goal is to assist in the well-being of those providing 24-hour care to a loved one suffering from Alzheimer’s Disease or other forms of dementia.

Auditions For Aladdin Jr.

South Valley Civic Theatre will be holding auditions for “Disney’s Aladdin Jr.” at the SVCT Warehouse, 8565 Monterey Road, on Friday, with 6:30pm check-in for 7pm auditions, and Saturday, with 9:30am check-in for 10am auditions and 12:30pm check-in for 1pm auditions. Call backs at the director’s request will be held Saturday evening.

Open for youth actors ages 8 through 14. Jafar may be cast as a baritone role up to age 18. Come prepared to perform a cold reading and dance routine, and sing a song of your choosing not from Disney’s Aladdin.

Once Upon A Saturday

Each Saturday in March, a different children’s store at Gilroy Premium Outlets hosts “Once Upon A Saturday,” a storytelling time from 10:30 to 11am.

Kids will get a goodie bag, a free children’s book donated by Book Warehouse and more.

On March 19, it will be at Strasburg Children, Bldg. B#160.

Fun Day At Henry Coe

Henry Coe State Park, 9000 E. Dunne Ave., will hold:

• A Discovery Hike at 10am. Strenuous 10 to 12 mile hike through Middle Ridge and Poverty Flat loop. Bring lots of water, snacks and lunch.

• “Beginner and Intermediate Backpacking” session at 10am.

• “Secret Spots,” a moderate, 5-mile hike, at 10am. Visit some favorite spots in Hunting Hollow, explore side canyons and little-known ponds. Expect some stream wading. Bring lunch and water.

• “Natural History of Coe Park” at 8pm. Winslow Briggs will reveal the harmony of the plants and animals in Coe Park.

Adopt A Furry Friend

Friends of San Martin Animal Shelter (FOSMAS) will hold a pet adoption fair at 5pm, at Petco in Gilroy, located off San Ysidro Avenue.

St. Patrick’s Dance

Gilroy Senior , 7371 Hanna St., will hold a “St. Patrick’s Day Dance,” with D.J. Johnny Diaz, on Saturday, from 5 to 9pm. Refreshments will be served. Tickets are only $7. Adults only.

PFLAG (Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays) is a support group fostering understanding and acceptance in families and society.
