Joseph J. Galvan died Monday, March 14, 2005 in Gilroy at the
age of 82.
Joseph J. Galvan died Monday, March 14, 2005 in Gilroy at the age of 82.

He was a veteran of WW II and after his discharge he and his brother Manuel owned and operated Galvan TV.

Mr. Galvan was active in Morgan Hill politics, a member of the Morgan Hill Volunteer Fire Department, Rotary and Grange. Galvan Park in Morgan Hill was named after he and his brother.

He is survived by his loving daughter, Mary Jo Samuelson and her husband Brian of Crowley Lake; sisters, Mary Hazelrigg of Gilroy and Alice Bariola of Napa; and many nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held at 10am Tuesday, March 22, 2005 at Habing Family Funeral Home, then proceed to St. Mary Catholic Church for a funeral Mass at 11am.

Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery.

Donations may be made in his name to American Heart Association, St. Joseph’s Center, Gilroy or donor’s favorite charity.
