Gilroy – Federal drug agents and Gilroy police executing a search warrant confiscated thousands of dollars’ worth of drugs from a house on Kern Avenue Friday morning and arrested one man.

Members of the United Narcotic Enforcement Team, UNET, seized 314 grams of methamphetamine and 259 grams of cocaine from 9160 Kern Ave. about 11am Friday, said Mark Colla, commander of UNET, a task force made including the Department of Justice, Office of the Attorney General and Bureau of Narcotic Enforcement based in Hollister.

The street value of the methamphetamine is estimated to be $10,000, while the cocaine is worth $9,000, Colla said.

Police arrested Alfredo Valencia Macias, who lives at the house, and booked him into county jail on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine for sale, and possession of cocaine for sale. He also was wanted for an outstanding probation violation and is being held without bail.

At the house, agents also found three pounds of a cutting agent, an animal vitamin supplement used to mix with narcotics, Colla said. Other items confiscated from the house include packaging materials for the drugs and four digital scales.
