Coyote Lake County Park: How did Ohlone Indian children entertain themselves? TV? (Nope.) Movies? (Nah.) Video games? (Are You Kidding?!?) They made a nut top with a spinning awl. They gambled playing the “stave game.” Learned how to hunt playing “hoop and spear” … and now you can do all these things and much more! The program starts at the Coyote Lake Visitor Center at 10am.

Grant County Park: Old Fashion Easter Celebration from 1-3pm. Join Park Rangers and the Easter Bunny for an old fashioned Easter celebration at Grant County Park. Hunt for eggs, play games and make crafts. Meet at the Rose Garden – don’t forget your Easter basket!

Ed Levin County Park: Photography here! Take a photography hike from 8-10:30am to discover some tools and techniques that will help you photograph landscapes, people and wildlife.

Santa Teresa’s Historic Bernal Ranch: Scrub-A-Dub and Old Time Games from 1-4:30pm. Come on out for a fun-filled afternoon at the ranch. Experience what granny called her “weekly affliction” and play games from 100 years ago. The ranch is located at the corner of Camino Verde and Manila Dr. in San Jose, near Santa Teresa Hospital.

Grant County Park: Star Party from 7:30-11pm. Take a look into the night sky with members of the Halls Valley Astronomical Group. Telescopes are provided, but you are welcome to bring one. Entrance gates close at 10pm.

Almaden Quicksilver: History Tour by Van from 9am-1:30pm. Join Park staff on a historic tour of Almaden Quicksilver County Park. Step back in time as you visit historic sites and experience what life was like back in the mining heyday. Meet at the Quicksilver Mining Museum at 9am. Bring sun protection, sturdy shoes, water and lunch.

Coyote Lake: Wonderful Wildflowers Hike from 9am-noon. Explore a flood of botanical technicolor on this guided 4-mile hike through the hills above Coyote Lake. Create a work of art and discover how local flowers were used by Native Americans. Meet at Park Office. Bring water, snacks, sun protection and sturdy hiking shoes.

Chitactac-Adams Heritage Park: Ohlone Foods workshop from 10am-noon. Discover how “natural foods” were prepared by the Ohlone people who once lived along Uvas Creek. Observe acorn mush boil in a basket and sample a variety of other “native” foods.
