Favorite Subjects:

Math and Science. Sidney really enjoyed learning about geometry and algebra this year in math and about evolution in science.

Sidney loves to play sports – especially basketball, tennis and swimming. She is a member of the Solorsano tennis team. Sidney also enjoys reading.

Plans for the Future:

After attending Gilroy High School, she has her eyes set on going to college, perhaps San Jose State University.

Outstanding Qualities:

“Sidney is an incredible student,” said Solorsano science teacher Dawn O’Connor. “She is able to make those high level concept connections between prior knowledge and newly introduced concepts.”

She had more than a 100 percent average in her advanced science course.

“All that she does is to a top level,” O’Connor said. “Yet she is humble and easy going for all to get along with.”

Sidney is not afraid to ask questions and is always on top of her assignments, projects and papers.

“Homework is the first thing I do when I get home from school,” Sidney said. And it pays off – she gets straight A’s in school.

Sidney placed first for seventh graders in the Solorsano science fair.

Favorite Books:
