Raffle to raise funds for Habitat for Humanity
Gilroy – Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage is hosting a community raffle to raise funds for Habitat for Humanity, a nonprofit organization dedicated to eliminating poverty housing in our communities.
Tickets for community raffle are $2. There are more than 45 raffle prizes, including a $5,000 cash grand prize, a week-long stay in a luxury condo in Maui, a two-night stay at the Four Seasons Resort Hualalai, a two-night stay at the Bernardus Lodge in Carmel and much more.
The raffle will launch on July 11 and run through Aug. 26. Raffle winners will be notified via phone on Sept. 1.

Money raised through this year’s fundraising drive will be donated to local Habitat for Humanity chapters for home construction in 2006. Crothers joins R.J. Dyer Property Investments
Gilroy – R.J. Dyer Real Property Investments Inc. is proud to introduce Paul Crothers as a new members of he R.J. Dyer staff. Crothers comes to the business with degrees from the naval Academy and Santa Clara University. He is experienced in the fields manufacturing, supply chain, finance, operations and marketing. His most recent position was as the Director of Business Operations at Applied Materials in Santa Clara. In addition to his background in management and sales, Crothers has managed several real estate and leasing investments. At R.J. Dyer Inc., he will focus all his energy, leadership analytical and communication skills on marketing and sales in the Gilroy and Hollister market areas.
Vic Vanni, a principle at R.J. Dyer Inc., has been involved in commercial real estate since 1997 where he has managed more than 200 deals totaling nearly $30 million. Vanni is an active member of the community, participating in the Gilroy Chamber of Commerce, Gilroy Economic Development Corporation, Gilroy Rotary, Gilroy Little League, New Hope Community Church, and the Gilroy Garlic Festival.

Calpine to sell oil and gas business
San Jose – Calpine Corp., a leading independent power producer and marketer, says it plans to sell all of its domestic oil and gas exploration and production assets for $1.05 billion.
Under terms of the sale, Calpine has formed a new subsidiary, Rosetta Resources Inc., that is selling 45.3 million shares for $725 million in private placement. Rosetta will use proceeds from the sale, plus $325 million in proceeds from a new credit facility, to buy all of Calpine’s domestic oil and gas exploration and production assets.
