Edline Useful – Teachers Need to Participate Now

Dear Editor,

I just read the article on Edline at Gilroy High, and I can attest to its usefulness. However, this system, like every other, is only as good as the information put into it.

At the recent high school back-to-school night, we asked each of our daughter’s teachers if they were using Edline, and four of the six said no.

I can follow my daughter’s progress in chemistry and PE, but not in English, world history, algebra II, or Spanish II. I know that this tool works from a parent’s perspective. I don’t have any way of knowing the benefits to the teacher.

Parents are anxious to use the system, as is evidenced by the large number who have signed up. We need to have an equal amount of enthusiasm from the teachers if the total benefit is going to be realized. I hope we see that soon.
