Ken’s Solar Remains Unbeaten with Victory

Gilroy – Ken’s Solar edged past Spirit of Morgan Hill 14-13 Sunday to move to 7-0 atop the Co-Rec Winter E League standings at Las Animas Park.

Sat Baines went 4-for-4 and scored the deciding run in the seventh inning on a Ken Souza grounder. Clint Chrisman scored three Solar runs. Ray Abeyta went 5-for-5 and Chris Putney added four hits to the Spirit offense.

El 7 Mares slipped into second place at 4-3 with a 15-3 decision over the Couch Potato’s. Armando Hernandez lashed a double and triple, scoring three runs for the winners. Chris Franzell, Jimmy Brozene and Vanessa Lopez scored Couch runs.

The Slammers. regular season champion of the Co-Rec C League at 6-2, dropped the finale 22-11 to 5-3 Dee’z Nutz and Cherries. The playoffs will be held on Thursday Oct. 20 at Las Animas. The Slammers play Rhino Wiring at 6:30, Dee’z and the Ball Hoggs meet at 7:40, with the winners playing for the post-season title at 8:50.

Henry Huerta homered in a 5-for-6 showing and Guillermo Gamboa sprayed five singles for Dee’z. Noe DeLaTorre stroked a homer, triple, single and sacrifice fly for the Slammers.

Rich Adams singled and doubled as the Ball Hoggs (4-4) defeated 1-7 Rhino Wiring 5-1. Megan McDonald went 3-for-4 for Rhino.

K. C. Adams and Jim Sands each homered as Cary O’Neal Roofing topped Kerrie Rennard Realty 15-4, leaving both teams at 5-1 in Co-Rec D action. John Jimenez went 3-for-4 for Rennard Realty.

Joel Garcia hit a double and two singles to pace Babe’s & Lightning Muffler by Frame Your Family In Eyewear 17-2. Luis Fumagalli singled home both Framer runs.

Chicks N’ Sticks trimmed Feather Haven Mill 21-11 to leave both at 5-2 atop the Co-Rec B standings. Bobby Garcia clubbed five runs and Dave Perez homered and tripled for the Sticks. Brett Scott and Mike Leslie each went 4-for-5 for the Millers.

Mike Hernandez drove in eight runs with two homers, a double and single in a 22-17 Lights Out nod over Andy’s. Joel Gaeta hit a grand slam for Andy’s.

DLM Electric topped Pro Electric 15-11 Friday to leave both clubs at 5-1 atop the Men’s Winter D standings at Christmas Hill Park. Gilbert Salgado homered and Phil Ruiz went 4-for-4 for DLM. Eddie Adame hit two homers and Chris Adame went 4-for-4 with a homer for the Pros.

Marco Delgado and Jose Ramirez each homered twice in a 21-11 Humboldt Brewing win over New Hope Community Church. Chris Alonzo and Clark Poulsen each homered for New Hope.
