DLM Earns Top Seed; Men’s Playoff Start Tuesday

Gilroy – DLM Electric earned the top seed in the Men’s Winter D League playoffs by outlasting Humboldt Brewing 15-9 Tuesday at Las Animas Park.

DLM will play fourth seed Humboldt Brewing at 6:30pm on Friday Oct. 28 at Christmas Hill Park. Pro Electric faces Blackout Window Tinting at 7:40pm. The two winners square off at 8:50pm for the post-season crown.

Gilbert Salgado went 4-for-4 and scored four runs for DLM Electric. Marco Delgado and Dave DelVillar each lined a two-run double as Humboldt struck for eight runs in the top of the first inning.

Blackout secured the third seed at 5-3 with a 15-13 squeaker over EvMar. Chris Velador, David Rogers and Gene Smith each went 3-for-4 for the Window Tinters. John Serrine went 4-for-4 for EvMar.

Vance Lee and Craig Courtney each went 3-for-3 to lead the Titans by New Hope Community Church 15-11. Ryan Mull went 3-for-5 for New Hope.

Dee’z Nutz-Interstate Fence claimed the Men’s Winter CC title at 8-0 with a 12-6 victory over the Sweepers Tuesday at Christmas Hill.

Rich Chavez and Donny Gooding each went 4-for-4 for the winners, Jason Thomas 2-for-3 for the Sweepers.

The Men’s CC Playoffs will be held on Tuesday Oct. 25 at Christmas Hill. Dee’z-Interstate meets Rhino Wiring at 6:30pm, Ascent Electric-Embroidery Store meets the Sweepers at 7:40pm. The two winners play at 8:50 for the league trophy.

Dutchman’s Pizza rallied for six runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to edge Rhino Wiring 17-16. Jess Lopez Jr. singled home Rick Trujillo with the winning runs for Dutchman’s. Roger Garduque homered twice in a 4-for-5 night for Rhino.

John Perez DDS-Garlic World remained atop the Women’s Winter League standings after a 14-2 nod over Toby’s Girls Monday at Las Animas. Vicki Groppe and Eva Neibel each stroked three hits for the 6-1 winners. Kelly Kramer and Cindy Gonzales scored the Toby’s Girls runs.

Don’s Vending powered by Farmers Insurance 31-7 as Liz Adams went 6-for-6 and Liz Talavera 5-for-5. Anita Garza went 3-for-3 for Farmers.

Antoinette Bowe drove in six runs with a home run, double and two singles to propel Goldsmith Seeds past Kim’s Drycleaning Service 11-7. Tiffani Pellin stroked a double and two singles for Kim’s.

The Women’s League Playoff is Wednesday Oct. 26 at Las Animas. Kim’s Drycleaning, the fourth seed, will play at 6:30pm. The three remaining seeds will be determined after Monday’s league finale between Perez-Garlic and Kim’s.

The Knuckleheads improved to 6-0-1 in Men’s Winter E competition Monday at Christmas Hill with an 11-2 victory over NorCal Tires. Brian Moreno hit a single, double and triple for the Knuckleheads, John Gonzalez two triples for NorCal Tires.

Claddagh Brew Crew clinched a playoff spot by defeating VFW Bingo 18-9. Ray Berzins went 5-for-5 for Claddagh, Gabe Sandoval 3-for-3 for VFW Bingo.

Gamers In Control settled into third place at 5-2 by stopping Western Recycling 13-5. Joey Hernandez hit two home runs for the Gamers. Frank Crue and Ricky Krogen each went 3-for-4 for Western Recycling.
