Another way of reaching students will be held today when the South County branch of the California Student Opportunity and Access Program (Cal-SOAP) stages its first Gilroy High School College Fair in the gym from 2 to 6pm. Students of all ages are invited to attend. Cal-SOAP officials will be transporting students from seven different high schools throughout the South County region. The state-funded program was established in 1978 with the intent to help low-income students become the first in their families to attend college. Cal-SOAP stages events such as college fairs at schools throughout California. Raffle tickets will be distributed to every attendee. For more information contact the South County Cal-SOAP office at 846-7504.
