Rehearsals for ‘Carol’

Hewlitt talks about the failing theater companies performance

‘Inspecting Carol’ is an adult comedy featuring what can happen when people make assumptions. The play is set in the mid-west where a small and struggling theater company is rehearsing their annual Christmas Carol play. The company knows the National Endowment of the Arts will send an inspector out to ensure the players deserve federal funding. When a lousy actor tries out for the play, the cast believes it is the NEA inspector

checking up on them. The real inspector appears at the worst possible the time. The 11-person cast is comprised of Morgan Hill, Gilroy and San Martin residents. The show will be performed at the Morgan Hill Playhouse at 8pm Nov. 18, 19, 25, 26 and Dec. 2, 3, 9 and 10. A 2pm matinee performance will be held on Nov. 27 and Dec. 4.

Tickets cost $15 for adults and $12 for students and seniors. They are available for purchase in advance at BookSmart in Morgan Hill and the Gilroy Visitor’s bureau.
