Rural Ag Sheriff Has Made a Huge Crime Difference

Dear Editor,

I am disappointed to read that the county is once again considering cutting the rural deputy position here in the South County. I realize that the county is facing another budget crisis. But surely funding can be found to retain Deputy Doug Vander Esch. I believe that just having a rural and agriculture law enforcement officer is itself a deterrent of criminal activity. I urge the county to retain Deputy Doug Vander Esch.
