Pizza N’ Stuff Remains Unbeaten

over GC Farms.
Gilroy – Pizza N’ Stuff won the battle of unbeatens Tuesday by outlasting Morgan Hill Garage Door 60-52 in Men’s D League basketball play at Solorsano Gymnasium.

Michael Fernandez dropped in six three-point field goals on the way to a game-pacing 20 points as Pizza N’ Stuff improved to 3-0 in first-half action in the Gilroy Community Services Department program.

Jacob Garcia poured in 10 points in the first half as Morgan Hill Garage Door took a 29-25 lead. Garcia topped the Door with 15 markers. Sig Reynisson hustled to 11 points for the Door.

Mark Cisneros aided the Pizza N’ Stuff cause with 14 points.

Danny Crowe used four 3-pointers to a 16-point performance as CordeValle trimmed Headstart Nursery 50-38.

Patrick Chicalonte added three 3-pointers as CordeValle moved to 1-2. Carlos Guerrero and Robert Lemmon each struck for 14 points for Headstart.

Gilroy Young Plants slipped by New Hope Community Church 54-53 to moved to 2-1 and into second place in the Men’s DD League action Wednesday.

Mike Kachel and Regan Cole each worked inside for 14 points for the Plants. Joel Goldsmith came up with 13 points for the winners, Manny Burns 11. Adam Moon dominated New Hope’s offense with 22 points. Michael Vanni and Daniel Kinoshita netted 12 points each for New Hope.

Rocha’s Drywall needed three overtimes to top Handmade Healthcare 76-74. Jose Maciel tossed in six 3-pointers and led the 1-2 Drywall attack with 23 points. Donivan Speaks provided 13 points, Gary Rosa, Michael Rocha and Bryan Windham 11 apiece for the winners. Brit Bigelow exploded for 23 points for Handmade. Mike McAvoy scored 15 points, Nick Possley 14 for the Healthcare offense.

The Eagles are 2-1 in second place after a 50-35 decision over Corde Ball’n. Daniel Fauss and Marcus Barbosa each tallied 13 points for the Eagles. Bobby Martin and Michael Moore each scored 11 points for Corde Ball’n.
