Gilroy Has Changed a Great Deal so Accept the Facts

Dear Editor,
In response to Mr. Barbaglia’s letter regarding Pacheco Pass
widening. He is correct. We should go back to the

good old days

where the white Americans lived in the west side and the
Mexicans lived in the east side. But they were equals, as long as
they cut lawns, painted, washed dishes and the good

low paying jobs had to be done.

Dear Editor,

In response to Mr. Barbaglia’s letter regarding Pacheco Pass widening. He is correct. We should go back to the “good old days” where the white Americans lived in the west side and the Mexicans lived in the east side. But they were equals, as long as they cut lawns, painted, washed dishes and the good “low paying jobs had to be done.”

I worked here in the ’70s and I loved the area. Mr. Barbaglia – yes we should attempt to keep our town civil and compact, but not at the expense of progress.

My wife and I are retired. We sold our home in San Jose and purchased here to live in our coming days. Mr. Barbaglia, you have to accept reality.

Jack Hernandez, Gilroy
