Catholic Social Justice Calls for a Generous Heart

Dear Editor,

This is in response to Alan Viarengo’s letter to the Dispatch.

It is pretty hard to approach someone who used the word “liberal” as a curse.

The authentic yearnings of the Catholic heart are socially liberal. The teachings of the Church are quite clear about social justice. View the catechism of the Catholic Church, and search for social justice, and you will see that the teaching goes all the way back to the Gospels (http://www.scborromeo.org/ccc.htm).

Mr. Viarengo, you will soon run out of Parishes to “hide” in as the teaching is pretty universal.
