Police incidents: Nearly $20K in guns and ammo stolen from Second Street residence

Police blotter

A burglar or burglars entered a residence on Second Street
through a detached garage and stole 17 rifles and shotguns and
ammunition with a total value of $19,840 from a gun safe, between
1:30 and 5 p.m. Dec. 30. Included in the items stolen were a
Weatherby Mark 5 rifle with scope valued at $2,500, a Winchester
Model 61 rifle valued at $1,600 and more than 70 boxes of
ammunition.
Residential burglary

A burglar or burglars entered a residence on Second Street through a detached garage and stole 17 rifles and shotguns and ammunition with a total value of $19,840 from a gun safe, between 1:30 and 5 p.m. Dec. 30. Included in the items stolen were a Weatherby Mark 5 rifle with scope valued at $2,500, a Winchester Model 61 rifle valued at $1,600 and more than 70 boxes of ammunition.

A burglar or burglars entered a residence on Rancho Hills Drive through a cut screen and unlocked window and took various DVDs valued at $3,000, a dress watch valued at $500, a silver Cybershot digital camera valued at $400 and a silver car key valued at $100, 9:59 p.m. Dec. 30.

A burglar or burglars entered a residence on Woodworth Way by breaking a rear bedroom window and ransacked the house, between 1 and 4 a.m. Jan. 1. The burglar or burglars placed items in a red 1999 Ford F250 located in the garage and used it as a get-away vehicle. Some of the items stolen or damaged include a surround sound stereo system valued at $1,800, miscellaneous jewelry valued at $5,000 and an IBM computer valued at $1,000.

As a woman was entering her home on Willow Court, she saw a window had been forced open and could hear people inside, 9:39 p.m. Jan. 1. The burglars fled while the woman called police. A white 1992 Honda Civic, later reported stolen, was found parked to the side of the house.

A minor was arrested after taking a BMX bicycle from Sunrise Drive, 4:19 p.m. Dec. 5. The bike was later recovered.

Missing juvenile

A 16-year-old female was reported as a runaway by her foster mother on Mantelli Drive, 12:47 a.m. Dec. 30.

A chronic runaway was reported on Victoria Drive, between 11 a.m. and 4:38 p.m. Dec. 31.

A female got into an argument with parents on the morning of Dec. 31 and she left her home on IOOF Avenue without her parents’ knowledge. Other family members have talked with her but haven’t been able to locate her.

A juvenile left a Solana Drive residence and has not returned, 8:30 p.m. Jan. 1. The juvenile is a chronic runaway who usually returns after a couple of days.

Stolen vehicle

A thief or thieves stole a blue 1979 Toyota from Monterey Street, between 9 p.m. Dec. 29 and 7 a.m. Dec. 30.

A thief or thieves stole a black 1995 Honda Accord, between 9:30 p.m. Dec. 29 and 8:30 a.m. Dec. 30.

A thief or thieves stole a white 1997 Honda Accord from Moro Drive, 4:53 a.m. Dec. 31.

A person’s friend borrowed a white 2003 Suzuki on Honey Court but did not return it as agreed, 11 a.m. Dec. 30.

A thief or thieves took a maroon 1991 Toyota Camry while the owner was inside Longhouse Salon on Monterey Street, between 5 and 6:36 p.m. Jan 2.

A thief or thieves stole a beige 2000 Nissan Sentra from Sorrento Drive, 8:48 p.m. Jan. 4.

A thief or thieves stole a blue 2002 Ford SUV from Kern Avenue, between 11 p.m. Jan. 4 and 9 a.m. Jan. 5.

Assault

A person reported domestic violence on Pierce Street, 10:15 a.m. Dec. 30.

Erik Shannon Llewellyn was arrested after hitting a person with a golf club handle and threatening to kill him on Welburn Avenue, 10 p.m. Dec. 30.

A person punched another person in the face during a dispute on First Street, 8:10 p.m. Dec. 30.

A man was assaulted while picking up his child at his ex-girlfriend’s house on First Street, 5:57 p.m. Jan. 1.

A case of mutual domestic battery was reported on Gurries Drive, 6:41 p.m. Jan. 3.

A man grabbed a woman by the hair and punched her multiple times in the face during an argument on Maple Street, 12:42 a.m. Jan. 4. She sustained several bruises to her face, neck, back and arms.

Found property

An unidentified person found a black Motorola cell phone in a black leather case on Ninth and Princevalle streets, 9:59 a.m. Dec. 30.

A unidentified person found a relative’s pistol on Parish Way, 9:35 p.m. Dec. 31. Police booked the weapon as evidence.

An unidentified person found a silver, black and yellow Mongoose bike, between 5 p.m. Dec. 26 and 10 a.m. Dec. 27.

An unidentified person found a blue and silver Pacific bike on Kern Avenue, 11 a.m. Jan. 5.

Vandalism

A vandal broke windows on two vehicles on the 7500 block of Monterey Road, 10:21 a.m. Jan. 1.

A vandal or vandals broke a window of a gray 2006 Ford Explorer on Broadway Street, between 6:30 p.m. Dec. 30 and 6 a.m. Dec. 31.

A vandal or vandals damaged a silver 2008 Chevrolet HHR on San Ysidro Avenue, between 8:15 and 11:10 p.m. Dec. 30.

Injury accident

A white 2007 Ford Focus, a black 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe and a white 2007 Honda Accord were involved in a traffic collision on Leavesley Road and Monterey Street, 6:45 p.m. Dec. 30. One driver was flown to a trauma center in San Jose for treatment.

A black 2008 Dodge was involved in an accident on Leavesley Road and Murray Avenue, 6:51 p.m. Dec. 31.

Hit and run

A black car and a green 1997 Honda Civic were involved in a hit and run accident on Renz Lane, 7:17 p.m. Dec. 30.

Petty shoplifting

Manuel Alberto Evan was arrested after he cut the end off a portable charger valued at $15 at Wal-Mart, 7150 Camino Arroyo, 4:07 p.m. Dec. 31.

Auto burglary

A burglar or burglar broke a front passenger window of a black 2007 Toyota Scion and took a yellow women’s wallet with credit cards and license on Chesbro Way, between 8:30 p.m. Dec. 31 and 12 a.m. Jan. 1.

A burglar or burglars entered a maroon 2004 Toyota Camry on Hennessy Way and took a license and credit cards, between 6:30 p.m. Dec. 30 and 6 a.m. Dec. 31.

A burglar or burglars stole a brown Coach purse and black Guess wallet from a silver 2000 Ford Explorer on Santa Teresa Boulevard, between 6:30 and 8:05 p.m. Dec. 30.

A burglar or burglars took a green bag with miscellaneous paperwork and two digital cameras from Church Street, 5 p.m. Jan. 4.

A burglar or burglars smashed a rear vehicle window of a silver 2005 Ford SUV on Kern Avenue and took a diaper bag with diapers, formula and wipes, between 12:01 and 10 a.m. Jan. 5.

Graffiti

A minor was cited and released after being seen tagging a garage door on Railroad Street by an unidentified person, 6:39 p.m. Jan. 1.

Lost property

An unidentified person lost property on Thomas Road, 8:07 p.m. Jan. 1.

An unidentified person lost property on Church Street, 5 p.m. Dec. 23.

Grand theft

A thief in a burgundy Chevrolet pickup pulled up into the parking lot of Paul’s Paint & Custom on Murray Avenue and stole an auto racing wing valued at $650, between 12:45 and 1 p.m. Dec. 29. The wing is about four feet by four feet and has a sticker with the numbers “91” and the name of the business.

A thief or thieves stole a gray BMX bike with gold wheels from an open garage on Prairie Owl Court, between Dec. 28 and 31.

A thief or thieves stole a pair of prescription sunglasses valued at $350 and heavy metal CDs valued at $150 from Carmel Street, between 12:01 a.m. Dec. 26 and 11 a.m. Dec. 27.

Recovered vehicle

A woman located her stolen gray 1993 Mazda in the Home Depot parking lot on San Ysidro Avenue, 7:05 p.m. Jan. 2. The vehicle was stolen from Soledad.

A white Acura Integra stolen from San Jose was recovered on Las Animas and Murray avenues, 6:15 p.m. Jan. 5.

San Jose Police recovered a stolen green 1991 Honda Accord from Lincoln Court, 8 a.m. Jan. 2.

Petty theft

A bookbag inside a gray 2005 Toyota Camry was tampered with, 2:57 a.m. Jan. 3.

A thief or thieves stole a black leather wallet with a pink “T” on the front valued at $200 from Carmel Street, between 11 p.m. Dec. 24 and 12:01 a.m. Dec. 25.

A thief or thieves took a rear license plate from a silver 1996 Acura Integra on Miller Avenue, between 3:30 and 7 p.m. Jan. 5.

Three thieves entered El Paraiso Market on Leavesley Road and took four 18-packs of Budweiser and Tecate beer, 9:25 p.m. Jan. 5. The suspects fled toward Swanston Lane

Fraud

A woman on Stoney Court discovered that more than $400 was fraudulently charged to her debit card online from California Wireless Solutions, Oct. 13.

A thief forged a Bank of America check and cashed it on Monterey Street, 3:30 p.m. Nov. 20.

A thief or thieves used a Social Security number of an Acorn Way resident to get cable services in Los Angeles, March 1.

A female’s credit cards were used fraudulently for three transactions at Wal-Mart, 7150 Camino Arroyo, 11:23 p.m. May 1.

ID theft

A person on Carmel Street filed a report of ID Theft, 1:01 p.m. Jan. 5.
