GIRLS BASKETBALL: Lady Mustangs too much for Spirits in 65-26 triumph

Gilroy High girls basketball team rebounded with a convincing 65-26
victory over Notre Dame on Tuesday night to wrap up the first half
of league play.

The Lady Mustangs (12-6, 4-2) are just one game out of second place and two games behind league-leader North Salinas.

Junior Lauren Rhodes led the Lady Mustangs with a team-high 14 points and junior Chelsea Hill recorded another double-digit scoring effort, posting 13 points. Senior Sovi Nou drilled two 3-pointers en route to her 10 points.

Gilroy’s defense held Notre Dame to single-digit scoring in each quarter, including just four points in the fourth.

The second half of league play starts Thursday night with Alisal visiting the Lady Mustangs. Gilroy took the last contest 63-27.

Tip-off is 7 p.m.
