Police incidents: Two pugs stolen from backyard

Police Blotter: Recent arrests made in Gilroy and Morgan Hill

A thief or thieves stole two pugs named Daisy and Peanut from
the backyard of a house on Bosco Lane, 8 a.m. March 2. Daisy was
described as a tan 7-month-old female with black marks and a
microchip. Peanut was a 3.5-year-old tan female, about 25 pounds,
with a microchip.
Commercial burglary

An unknown Hispanic adult female went into a store on the 6700 block of Camino Arroyo, 2:32 p.m. Feb. 28, and left with several large bags of unpaid merchandise. She was captured on store security cameras and fled in a four-door teal Honda Civic.

An unidentified female in a store on the 600 block of Leavesley Road put a pair of Gucci sunglasses in her purse, paid for another pair, and then left the store, 1:37 p.m. March 1.

Recovered vehicle

Police found a 1995 black Honda Civic, stolen out of San Jose, near West Seventh and Princevalle streets, 1:26 a.m. March 1.

Police found a stolen 1990 blue Honda Accord at an unspecified location on Camino Arroyo, 11:24 p.m. March 1.

Police found a stolen 2003 blue BMW 325 on San Ysidro Avenue, 1 a.m. March 3.

Stolen vehicle

A thief or thieves stole a 1997 black Honda Civic with a California driver’s license in it from an unspecified location on Princevalle Street, between 10:30 p.m. Feb. 28 and 12:30 a.m. March 1.

A thief or thieves stole a 2001 brown Chevrolet Suburban from the parking lot at Wal-Mart, 7150 Camino Arroyo, between 1:30 and 11 a.m. March 1.

A thief or thieves stole a 1993 black Honda Accord from East Seventh Street, between 10 p.m. March 1 and 10:10 a.m. March 2.

A red flatbed tow truck with four letters on its side was used to steal a gray 2002 Mitsubishi Galant from near Chestnut and East 10th streets, 4:40 p.m. March 2.

A 1985 red Toyota CST was stolen from Walnut Lane, between 5 p.m. March 2 and 10 a.m. March 3.

Petty theft

The rear license plate, no. 6JHB960, was stolen off a 2003 maroon Ford Mustang at an unspecified location on Caroline Court, between 8 p.m. Feb. 28 and 9:11 a.m. March 1.

An unspecified suspect was observed shoplifting on an unspecified Camino Arroyo store’s security camera, 9:59 a.m. March 1.

A thief or thieves stole a box of cheese and a case of eggs, total value of $100, employee tax documents, and $100 in coins from a business on First Street, between 9 p.m. Feb. 24 and March 1. One of the business’ keys had been lost and found in that period.

A thief or thieves stole $250 in women’s clothing, a white rolling basket worth $10, a blue backpack worth $20 and a red and black hand vacuum worth $15 from an unlocked 1987 red Chevrolet on the 1200 block of Juniper Drive, between 10 p.m. Feb. 28 and 3 p.m. March 1.

Non-injury accident

Gil Vickery, 27, was backing out of a driveway on the 400 block of Vickery Lane in a 1990 blue GMC Suburban when he broadsided a brown Lexus G54, 2:06 p.m. March 1. While Vickery’s view was blocked to the east, the Lexus came from the west, police said.

A person in a 1997 white Toyota Tacoma backed into a parked, unoccupied 2002 silver Hyundai Elantra on El Cerrito Way, 7:42 p.m. March 2.

Injured animal

Police received a report of an injured dog on Leavesley Road, 4:53 p.m. March 1.

Auto burglary

A $530 in-dash DVD player and a heavy chain gold necklace with a 2-inch medallion worth $1,000 were stolen from a 1998 green GMC Sonoma on Delta Drive, between 10 p.m. March 1 and 10 a.m. March 2.

Disturbance by fight

Two people got into a fight on West 10th Street, 3 p.m. March 2. One person was cited and released and another person was referred to the District Attorney’s office for possible prosecution.

Two people were cited and released for fighting outside Gilroy High School, 750 W. 10th St., 8 a.m. March 2.

Child abuse

An unidentified child claimed that his or her mother from Princevalle Street abused her. The child had a small bruise on her forearm and a bruise on her ankle, 12 p.m. Feb. 27.

Fraud

An unidentified person cashed two forged checks at an undisclosed location on Camino Arroyo, 2 p.m. Feb. 6.

Grand theft

Thieves took three Vizio televisions, a Fisher Price trike, a DJ Hero video game and a wastebasket, total value of $1,440.97, from Wal-Mart, 7150 Camino Arroyo, and left the store without paying for the merchandise, 9:30 p.m. March 1. The thieves loaded the merchandise into two waiting cars.

A thief took four car stereos, a Pioneer car amplifier, a DVD player and a four pack of speakers, total value of $1,669.73, from Wal-Mart, 7150 Camino Arroyo, between 2 p.m. Jan. 17 and Feb. 26.

Narcotics

An unidentified person was found with 0.6 grams of marijuana on a school campus on IOOF Avenue, 8:20 a.m. March 3.

Domestic disturbance

A male and his mother had an argument over a cell phone, which led the male to become “disrespectful” on IOOF Avenue, 9:04 p.m. March 3. The male’s father then got upset and hit the male several times with a belt, leaving bruises and welts. The father was arrested and Child Protective Services was called.
