Police incidents: Woman allegedly on drugs tries to jump from moving car

hallucinating and trying to jump out of a moving vehicle at Camino
Arroyo and Highway 152.
Student nabbed with sharpened letter opener

Police arrested a youth at 2:45 p.m. March 12 at South Valley Middle School, 385 IOOF Ave., after he was seen showing another student a letter opener with a sharpened blade that he was carrying for his protection. The student was cited and released.

Student carrying pink crystals at school

A teacher found a small baggie with pinkish crystals at Mount Madonna Continuation High School, 8750 Hirasaki Court, at about 8 a.m. March 12 and turned it into the school office.

Alleged DUI driver found in road median

Police arrested Juan Zavala Guzman, 28, of Gilroy on charges of driving under the influence at 3:30 a.m. Saturday after a California Highway Patrol officer noticed his car was on the center island at Wren Avenue and Byers Street. Guzman was seated inside the vehicle and appeared to be intoxicated, according to police.

Purse collection stolen

An unknown person broke into a house on the 1100 block of San Miguel Street between 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. Sunday and stole 10 Coach purses worth a total of $5,000.

Youth kicks car, threatens man, lies to police

Police arrested a youth at 3:38 p.m. Wednesday after he kicked someone else’s car several times at West Ninth and Princevalle streets. The victim stopped the youth and then released him when he realized he did not have a phone to call police, police said. As the suspect walked away, he told the victim, “I’m going to pull a gun on you.” The suspect was found in an alley a short time later and gave false identification to police officers. The youth was cited and released to his parents.

St. Pat’s day knife display?

Police responded to a fight at The Claddagh Irish Restaurant and Pub, 1300 First St., at 12:31 a.m. Thursday, after someone displayed a knife but did not point it at anyone. No arrests were made.
