“Casey let them hit the ball and our defense played really solid,” manager Julie Berggren said.

The Mustangs put together 11 hits in the game and used a three-run third inning to set the tone.

Lindsay Holt drove in the first Mustangs run of the day with a two-out double, plating Alissa Castro, who led off the inning with a single. Melanie Morales drove in the next two runs with a double of her own to make it 3-0.

The Mustangs tacked on one run in the bottom of the fourth thanks to a Dani Hemeon RBI-single to bring home Stephanie Rodriguez, who reached with a double.

Hemeon delivered again in the sixth inning with another RBI-single.

The Mustangs (6-3, 1-0 TCAL) are right back at it today, traveling to R.L. Stevenson for a nonleague contest. They finish the week in Salinas against TCAL opponent Alisal on Thursday.
