VANCOUVER, Wash. – Pati Soria went 3-for-4 with two RBI, and Brook Loesch drove in three runs, as the Gilroy Little League Majors softball All-Stars coasted to another blowout victory, 15-2, at the Western Regionals in Vancouver, Wash on Tuesday.

Gilroy is now 3-0 in Pool 2 play and returns to the field Friday against Montana.

A trend that began back in the District 59 tournament, Gilroy once again did damage on the scoreboard in the first inning, posting three runs in the opening frame Tuesday.

The girls padded the initial lead with a five-spot in the second, and the rout was on.

After an uncharacteristically silent third inning, Gilroy tallied three times in the fourth and four more in the fifth.

The all-stars needed just eight hits en rout to their 15 runs, but drew seven walks and stole three bases to aide the onslaught to notch its second mercy-rule shortened victory in three games.

Lauren Castro started in the circle, striking out two in two innings to get credit for the win. Mac Holt pitched the final three innings, setting down three opposing batters via strikeout.
