Police arrested a Gilroy man Sunday morning for allegedly raping an intoxicated 18-year-old at his home.
About 11:20 a.m. Sunday, the victim notified police about the alleged rape, which occurred earlier that morning at suspect Oscar Antonio Castro’s residence on the 200 block of Farrell Avenue. Police arrested Castro, 25, without incident at his home for rape of an intoxicated subject and penetration with a foreign object when the victim is unable to consent due to intoxication.
The two did know each other prior to the alleged crime “but did not have any type of intimate relationship,” said Gilroy Police Sgt. Chad Gallacinao.
Because the investigation is still ongoing, Gallacinao could not describe the physical evidence collected at the scene.
