FIELD HOCKEY: Cougars drop a pair of league games 1-0

HAGEN TOURNEY: Alvarez defeats CHS in Round 2

Christopher lost a narrow 1-0 decision to Monterey last Friday
and against fell 1-0 on Monday to Stevenson.
The shots are there, they just have to find the cage.

Two 1-0 losses to Monterey (last Friday) and Stevenson (Monday) in the last five days has the Christopher High varsity field hockey team working extra hard on fine tuning its offensive attack.

“Recently we have been taking more shots, which we weren’t doing at the beginning of the season. Now, we have to work on looking up and being aware of the openings,” head coach Stacey Myers said Tuesday.

The Cougars are now 1-3-2 in the Monterey Bay League.

“We are pretty close with the teams we are playing,” Myers said. “Our weakness is scoring right now but our defense has been able to hold teams.”

The Cougars travel to Salinas to play Notre Dame on Friday.
