The Gilroy Demonstration Garden will hold its Healthy Harvest
Festival from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.
The Gilroy Demonstration Garden will hold its Healthy Harvest Festival from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. There will be harvest crafts and activities, a healthy cooking demonstration by Lizarran Tapas Restaurant’s Chef Jonathan and organic gardening classes. The garden also features Health Alley, which has local professionals and organizations providing information and demonstrations on everything from prenatal care to safe exercise for seniors.
On Oct. 16, the Demonstration Garden held a dinner to say thank you to the many people who have helped make the garden located on Eigleberry Street between Sixth Street and Seventh Street a success.
Lizarran provided the dinner, with tables, chairs, linens, china and food. The garden provided the vegetables for the dinner.
“I want to thank Lizarran Tapas for putting on the dinner,” said Judy Hess, Gilroy Demonstration Garden director. “I also want to thank the wonderful sponsors that made the garden possible and the awesome volunteers for their many hours of service to the garden.
“The garden is so awesome because we have volunteers from throughout Gilroy coming and volunteering their time and expertise to create this beautiful garden. It could not be here without them.”
