Gavilan earns straight sets win over Hartnell for second time
The Gavilan College women’s volleyball team completed the season sweep of Coast Conference opponent Hartnell College on Friday night with a straight sets win 26-24, 25-18, 25-20 in Salinas.

The Rams defeated Hartnell in Gilroy in three sets back on Oct. 1.

Outside hitter, freshman Jaclyn Lantis, led the Rams (12-5 overall, 5-1 in conference) with nine kills. Freshmen Emily Tonascia (seven kills), Kelsie Asp (six kills) and Avry Walker (five kills) also had productive evenings for the Rams’ front row.

Gavilan is currently ranked 25th in the California Community College Coaches Association state poll, sharing that position with Bakersfield.

Gavilan is back on the court Wednesday against Monterey Peninsula College at home. First serve is slated for 6:30 p.m.
