REC SOFTBALL: Champions decided as Co-Rec fall season concludes

O’Neal Roofing, the Playoff Night titlist, grabbed a 4-2 lead in the fourth inning when Roger Hernandez and Paul Garcia lined triples to highlight the four-run rally.

Manny Ramirez singled and scored in the O’Neal sixth for a 5-3 lead. The Hit Crew, the regular season champion, plated the first four batters of the sixth frame. Marc Vegas drew a walk, Willie Gamboa reached base on an infield error, Chris Adame singled and Eddie Adame doubled.

Mountain Mike’s Pizza of Gilroy earned the T-shirts for the Women’s League with a 15-3 nod over Blackout Window Tinting.

Monica Pantoja slapped two doubles and a single, scoring three runs for the Pizza squad. Vanessa Pena scored three Mountain Mike’s runs. Barb Lemberger went 3-for-3 for Blackout, the league’s regular season champion.

Just Released captured the Playoff Night crown in the Co-Rec B League with a 26-12 win over Team Rush Tuesday at Christmas Hill.

Mario Silva homered and Jamie Hall and Tanya Garcia netted four hits each for Just Released. Danny Pequeno homered and Cameron Bautista went 3-for-4 for Team Rush.

Team Rush earned a spot in the Playoff Night finals with a 17-7 decision over Blackout. Bobby Granados went 5-for-5 for the winners. Just Released followed with a 7-4 edging of Self Made Crew. Garcia was 3-for-3 for the winners, Matt Hernandez 3-for-3 with a homer for Self Made.

Out 2 Play outlasted Big Kahuna 20-5 in the Co-Rec C finals Tuesday at Las Animas Park. Art Naranjo went 3-for-3 and scored four Play runs. Mark Logan and Jess Alonzo each doubled and singled for Big Kahuna.
