Participating in the Alexis Briski Memorial Tournament two weeks ago in Los Gatos, the girls learned of the tournament’s namesake, Alexis, and her struggle with Osteosarcoma, which claimed her life in May 2009.

Organized by her parents, the tournament was held for the second time Oct. 16 and 17.

After reading a welcome letter, depicting the story of Alexis’ love of softball, the girls from Gilroy took the message and meaning of the event to heart and came away with the championship, dedicating the win to the host family.

The Chaos scores 46 runs in three games on Saturday while holding opponents scoreless.

The Chaos capped their championship in rainy conditions with an 8-0 victory Sunday.
