Police arrested a teen who they say stabbed another teen with a knife near a bus stop in Morgan Hill.

The incident happened about 8:10 a.m. Thursday, near the VTA bus stop south of John Wilson Way, on the 15000 block of Monterey Highway, Sgt. Jerry Neumayer said.

A 17-year-old male from Morgan Hill was stabbed one time by another 17-year-old male from Morgan Hill, police Sgt. Jerry Neumayer said. The victim suffered a punctured lung and was transported by a family member to Saint Louise Regional Hospital in Gilroy.

The suspect was arrested and booked into Santa Clara County juvenile hall Thursday night, Neumayer said. Police think the incident was gang-related, and there are no more outstanding suspects.

Police did not identify the victim or suspect, who are both juveniles.

Police heard about the incident from hospital staff, who called 911 when the victim checked in for treatment about 8:30 a.m. Thursday.

From the Gilroy hospital, staff brought the victim to San Jose Regional Hospital where he remained as of Thursday afternoon with a punctured lung, Neumayer said. His wound is not life-threatening.
