Quarterback Jeff Garcia had his most difficult outing as a member of the Omaha Nighthawks, tossing four interceptions in a 24-10 loss to defending United Football League champion Las Vegas Locomotives on Thursday in Omaha.

The Nighthawks out-gained the Locomotives 247 yards to 145, but the costly turnovers sent Omaha to 3-2 on the season and propelled Las Vegas to 5-1 and in control of the five-team league.

A win next week guarantees the Locos a berth into the league championship game.

Following the loss, the Nighthawks remain in second place and control their own destiny. If they can win their final two games, a spot in the championship, which will be held in their home Rosenblatt Stadium, is theirs.
