Alarcon places second for girls, Williams fourth for boys
Senior Tim Williams held off the field for two-thirds of the 3-mile boys Tri-County Athletic League championship meet, placing fourth in 16 minutes, 33 seconds on Saturday at Toro park in Salinas.

Williams’ time was tops for GHS runners whose overall performance sent them to a fourth-place finish in league and a berth into the Central Coast Section championships Nov. 13.

Athena Alarcon clocked a 19:24 for second in the girls’ race, helping the girls’ squad to a third-place in league and a CCS championship qualification.

Eduardo Guzman (16:20) and Vanessa Estrada (19:09), both from San Benito, placed first in the boys’ and girls’ races, respectively.
