Morgan Hill – Two newcomers and two incumbents grabbed the most votes in the race for four seats on the Morgan Hill Unified School District Board of Trustees.

Longtime educator Ron Woolf led the way with 5,588 votes, stay-at-home mother Claudia Rossi came in second with 5,328 votes, incumbent Shelle Thomas finished third with 4,617 votes and her fellow boardmember Don Moody secured 4,554 votes for the final spot, based on reports at 4:39 p.m. Thursday by the county registrar of voters.

The top four vote-getters will have a seat on the board. A final update is expected at 5 p.m. Friday.

Trailing the top four were incumbent Bart Fisher with 9.9 percent (3,223); Bob Benevento, who pulled out of the race last month though his name still appeared on the ballot, had 8.7 percent (2,853); Kirsten Francis Carr has gained 8.4 percent (2,717); Armando Benavides garnered 6.8 percent (2,229); and Brenda Cayme came in last place with 4.8 percent (1,563 votes).
