14-5 victory against Alvarez on Wednesday between losses to Salinas
on Monday and Monterey on Thursday.

Junior Michael Shields posted five goals to go along with three assists and eight steals. Junior Josh Kendrick scored a team-high six goals while Alan Lindseth (1) and Kooper Knutson (2) also tallied for the Mustangs in the win over Alvarez.

Kendrick scored all five goals for GHS in a lopsided 23-5 defeat to Salinas in the tournament opener Tuesday.

The Mustangs gave Monterey all it could handle Thursday, suffering a narrow decision, 8-6.

Goalie Jordan Besson kept the Mustangs in it with seven saves in cage, while the offense spread the goal scoring around the pool. Garrett Pipkin and Kendrick tied for the team-high with two goals apiece and Knutson and Shields added one each.
