Gilroy veterans have a day to remember

Ceremonies commemorating Veterans Day were held today at the
Veterans Memorial Building at 74 West 6th St. in Gilroy. A free
breakfast was served from 8 to 10 a.m., with 11 a.m. ceremonies.
Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill and Bar, at 8200 Arroyo Circle in
Gilroy, will offer free meals today to veterans to honor their
service.

Crowds gathered at the Veterans Memorial Building to pay tribute to veterans amid the backdrop of music and singing, heartfelt speeches and a 21-gun salute.

“Even now, I see their faces. Some I never knew if the came back or not,” said John Ceballos, post commander of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6309.
