REC BASKETBALL: Davis, Sharp score 21 apiece as Jiffy Lube opens with a win

at Solorsano Gymnasium with a 78-59 victory over the Free
Agents.
Eric Davis and Kyle Sharp scored 21 points apiece Monday as Jiffy Lube began the 2010-11 Men’s Adult D Basketball League season at Solorsano Gymnasium with a 78-59 victory over the Free Agents.

Cliff Dennett provided 20 points for Jiffy Lube, including 15 points off five three-point field goals. Dallas Jensen recorded 20 points, Edgar Velazquez 19 and Ramon Bassi 11 for the Free Agents.

Josh Bleem tallied 18 points to lead Hard Ninety past the Sonics 65-45.

Matt van Kuelen made three 3-pointers in a 15-point showing in the first half as the Sonics kept pace with Hard Ninety through one half, 27-27.

Frank Tomasetti scored 14 points, J. T. Tipton 12 for the winners. Matt Wendt accounted for 12 points to help van Kuelen’s 24-point explosion for the losers.

Shoot It & Boot It reached 2-0 atop the Men’s DD League Wednesday at Solorsano Gym with a 45-28 decision over IKON Office Solutions.

Rudy Mireles keyed the Shoot It offense with a 14-point production. Ron Colman sliced to 12 points, Lamont Chappell eight for the victors. Eric Tollison worked inside for 11 points and Jeff Aguirre followed with 10 points for IKON.

Morgan Hill Garage also hit 2-0 by outlasting Silicon Valley Retirement Group 62-41.

Ryan Chisolm hit eight quick points as Morgan Hill Garage Door rushed to a 28-19 intermission advantage. Chisolm finished with 16 points, Eric Smith 14 and Enrique Dolmo 10 for the Doors. Darwin Collins hit three 3-pointers on the way to 17 points for Silicon Valley. Mark Taylan helped the Silicon offense with 11 points.

The Stray Dogs turned back the Warriors 37-32 when Derek Strong scored the game’s final eight points. Strong paced the Dogs with 17 points. Adolfo Tellez ignited the Warriors for 15 points.
