Two Gilroyans have been named vice presidents of the Santa Clara
County Farm Bureau, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting
and preserving farming and ranching in the Santa Clara County.

First vice president Pete Aiello and second vice president Rick Neuenschwander join president Tim Chiala, of Morgan Hill, as officers of a bureau that focuses on political involvement, education and member development, according to its website.

Aiello is the owner and general manager of Uesugi Farms located at 1020 California 25 in Gilroy. Uesugi Farms operates on about 1,500 acres in California along with 1,000 acres in Sonora, Mexico. It also operates the annual Uesugi Farms Pumpkin Park in Morgan Hill. Aiello has served on the Young Farmers & Ranchers state committee for three years and has been on the SCCFB board for six years.

Neuenschwander is the manager of Castro Valley Ranch, spanning almost 9,000 acres surrounding Gilroy. He oversees cattle, hunting activities and quarry and timber operations at the ranch. Neuenschwander has been on the SCCFB Board for two years.

Chiala is the director of fresh produce sales and procurement at George Chiala Farms.
