According to police, the victim reported at about 3:15 p.m. at the Gilroy Police Department lobby that she was sexually abused by her stepfather for the past eight to nine years.

Cabrera, 34, was arrested based on a subsequent interview of the victim and other evidence gathered by investigators – who forwarded the case to the District Attorney’s Office – according to a GPD press release.

Cabrera has been booked on the following charges: continuous sexual abuse of a minor, oral copulation with victim under 10 years old, lewd acts with a child under 14 and other charges.
