Sheriff’s blotter: Cause of broken window under contention

Vandalism
– On May 1 at 12:30 a.m. an unknown suspect broke a window at a
party held at a residence on the 13000 block of Sewell Avenue in
San Martin. The incident was reported by the renter who threw the
party. The renter told police he believed an unwanted party guest
named Scott, 19, broke the window. The suspect is still at large.
The landlords believe the renter broke the window.

Under the influence/parole violation

– Emily Vaca, 31, April 25 at 12:32 a.m. near the intersection of Lewis Street and Chestnut Avenue in Gilroy for parole violation and being under the influence of a controlled substance.

– Israel Juarez, 21, April 30 at 10:52 p.m. near the intersection of Southside Drive and Rossi Lane in Gilroy for being under the influence of a controlled substance and parole violation.

Petty Theft

– Unknown suspects stole two extension cords April 24 at 2 p.m. from Curbside Espresso at Gavilan College at 5055 Santa Teresa Blvd. The cords were valued at $180. The suspects are at large.

– An unknown suspect stole a laptop computer April 26 at 7:15 p.m. from a classroom at Gavilan College at 5055 Santa Teresa Blvd. The laptop was valued at $550. No suspects were identified.

Residential burglary

– On May 29 at 5:45 p.m. an unknown suspect forced entry into a victim’s home on the 900 block of Southside Drive in Gilroy. The suspect took a DVD player worth approximately $150. The suspect is still at large.

Controlled substance in jail/public intoxication

– Everardo Valdovinos, 28; and Juan Guerra, 20; May 3 at 10:51 p.m. near the 1900 block of Pacheco Pass Highway by Holsclaw Road in Gilroy for possession of a controlled substance in jail and public intoxication.
