Community fair at Lizarran Tapas Restaurant

A community resource fair will be hosted from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Lizarran Tapas Restaurant at 7400 Monterey St.

In addition to a live music performance and free appetizers, a total of six organizations will be present for the event including the South County Self Help Center, Community Voicemail Program, Community Media Access Partnership, Project Sentinel, Si, Se Puede! Learning Center and the Senior Nutrition Program.

There will also be a short presentation on service opportunities with Americorps.

Gilroy Prep to hold meeting and fundraiser

Gilroy Prep School, a brand new charter set to open in fall 2011, will be holding a board meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the GPS campus inside room 11 at 277 IOOF Ave.

That same day, GPS supporters will also be hosting a fundraiser at Chevys Fresh Mex restaurant on 8440 Murray Ave. For any patrons who come and dine in support of the charter school, GPS will receive 25 percent of all proceeds.

The GPS enrollment lottery is scheduled to take place at 3 p.m. April 16 at GPS.

Rare planes on display in Hollister

The national Wings of Freedom tour will come to the Hollister Airport Wednesday through Friday. In honor of our WWII Veterans, this tour features the iconic B-17 Flying Fortress, the only fully restored and flying B-24J Liberator and the legendary P-51 Mustang.
