class to teens and their parents at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Gilroy
CHP office located at 740 Renz Lane, according to Officer Jaime
Rios.
The California Highway Patrol is offering a free driving safety class to teens and their parents at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Gilroy CHP office located at 740 Renz Lane, according to Officer Jaime Rios.

The two-hour Smart Start class is meant for new or soon-to-be drivers ages 15 to 19. The class will be taught by CHP officers who will discuss factors that contribute to vehicle crashes and how to avoid them, according to the CHP.

Some officers are expected to tell teens and their parents about fatal crashes involving teen-age drivers, according to a CHP press release.
