Larry Pierotti’s house is hard to miss.
The large home on the corner of Orchard Road in Gilroy is like any other patriotic dwelling on the Fourth of July weekend with red, white and blue flags and banners.
What sets Pierotti’s house apart is a large mural and a blown up “God Bless America” flag for all to see.
It is his way to celebrate the Fourth of July and honor those who have served in the military.
“We honor my dad, Joe Pierotti, and my wife’s dad, Frank Espinosa,” Pierotti said.
The Gilroyan has been known to decorate his 7185 Orchard home with festive decorations depending on the holiday. This time he went a step further in his usual Fourth of July display. Two black and white pictures of his father and father-in-law sit in the shade under his American flag.
The community has also noticed the home. He said police officers, neighbors and those who walk down the street don’t hesitate to admire the decorations.
“We do this display because, you know, all the men and women even today are fighting for our freedom. Freedom, you know, doesn’t come cheap.” Pierotti said.
