Nick Garcia pitched five innings of scoreless baseball as the Gilroy Little League Majors American League All-Stars climbed past East Hills 10-1 on Thursday night.

The win moves the locals into the District 59 All-Star double-elimination tournament semifinals where they will face the Gilroy National League All-Stars on Sunday.

The National League squad defeated Oak Ridge on Thursday.

Garcia yielded just two hits and struck out eight during his time served on the mound Thursday, spelled by Mikey Sanchez who fanned a pair of hitters.

Gilroy posted 15 hits, including three from Anthonee Bartholic and Garcia, who also had a home run. Brandon Cook and Sanchez tallied a pair of base knocks, and Tiago Costa and Scott Fernald each had a double.

Sunday’s all-Gilroy semifinal is slated for an 11 a.m. start at Reid-Hillview Field in San Jose.
