Bubu Garcia put up staggering offensive numbers as a junior for the Gilroy High baseball team during the 2010-11 campaign en route to a Tri-County Athletic League Most Valuable Player distinction. Though the baseball season is nearly two-months gone, the awards haven’t yet stopped floating toward the incoming senior.

On Friday, Garcia was named to the ESPN Rise/Cal-Hi Sports All-California First-Team underclassmen list.

Hitting third for the Mustangs, Garcia collected a .506 batting average (39 hits in 77 official at-bats), an .820 slugging percentage, 25 RBI and six home runs. (All stats according to maxpreps.com.) Of his 39 hits, 10 went for doubles. Garcia also scored 22 runs.
