Newly hired Gilroy High baseball manager Jared Gamble won’t lead the Mustangs onto the diamond until spring, however his stint with the team will begin with replacing equipment that was stolen from the teams’ clubhouse.
Gamble said Monday night that “about $5,000 worth” of baseball gear, video cameras, radar guns and items stored in personal lockers, was stolen from the facility that sits behind the Mustangs’ field on 10th street.
“It was noticed this afternoon. It happened overnight,” Gamble said. “It looks like someone spent a good amount of time bending the lock.
“The program is already in debt and this certainly doesn’t help,” Gamble continued, asking that if anyone in the community who might have any information relay that to the Gilroy Police Department.
“We are looking for the community’s help,” he said.
Gamble said that a police report has been filed.
