Police briefs: Alleged gang member threatens bar patron

This week, it’s crime as usual: Stolen cars, narcotics violations and threats from alleged gang members as well as out-of-towners. Here are a couple events:
Meth possession
Eric Patterson, 29 of Gilroy, was contacted by police at 8 p.m. on Sept. 29 at Laurel Drive and Uvas Park Drive, for suspicious behavior – police though he was possibly attempting to steal a car. Patterson was allegedly too intoxicated to function. Police found 4.5 grams much meth on him, and booked into Santa Clara County Jail for possession of narcotics and for being drunk in public.
Self-proclaimed ‘gang member’ threatens a bar patron
Twenty-six-year-old Morgan Hill resident, Adan Urenda, who allegedly claimed to be a gang member, threatened to harm a patron at Rio Nilo on Monterey Street at 10:20 p.m. on Sept. 29. Urenda was kicked out of bar and came back, so Rio Nilo staff called the police. Police say Adan physically refused to comply with orders and was arrested for making threats and resisting arrest with no incident after an officer used a taser on him.
Santa Clara man threatens to kill Gilroy residents
Kevin Beurmann, 27 of Santa Clara, allegedly threatened to kill several residents on 1200 Bay Tree Drive at 11 p.m. on Sept. 29. The victims said Beurmann sent threatening text messages before showing up at their home and whipping out an airsoft gun, threatening to kill them. The residents called police, who found Beurmann down the street. He allegedly had two (real) guns complete with ammunition in the trunk of his car. He was arrested for threats, DUI and for brandishing a replica gun and was taken to Santa Clara County Jail.
Stolen car found in Kohl’s parking lot
At 3:30 p.m. on Sept. 30, police were in the Kohl’s parking lot on Camino Arroyo for a shoplifting call. While there, they found a suspicious black 1995 Honda Civic and ran its license plate to find it had been reported stolen out of Morgan Hill on Sept. 7. Manuel Martin, 29 of Firebaugh, was arrested for being in possession of a stolen vehicle and was taken to Santa Clara County Jail.
