After her husband died, Jeanne moved to Soquel and was active in the Congregational Church of Soquel. As part of the Church Circle, she enjoyed making jewelry. Jeanne had an outgoing, vibrant personality and was an avid bird lover as well as a devoted mother.
She loved family gatherings and the merriment when her children played live music.

From Jeanne’s handwritten memoirs, the words of Reverend Harold Gwynne; “For every sorrow there is gladness, for every burden, sweet relief. For every trouble tinged with sadness, there is a peace beyond relief. These blessings come from God’s good hand, sometime, somewhere, we’ll understand.”
