Sara J. Shanley, daughter of Paul Shanley and Celia Sigala of Gilroy, is engaged to Christopher A. Gardiner, son of Ron Gardiner of San Jose and Janice Steinbeck of Susanville.
Sara is a recent graduate of Santa Clara University, with a bachelor's degree in psychology. Christopher has his AFFA certification and is a fitness director of Anytime Fitness.
The couple plan a May 24, 2009 wedding at the Grand Island Mansion in Walnut Grove. The ceremony will take place along the delta at the Historic Italian-Renaissance style Grand Island Mansion. Reception with immediate family and close friends will follow in the ballroom of the mansion.
The couple will reside in Elk Grove.

Hall/Koch
Lauren Alyssa Hall and Tryg Jonathan Koch were married Aug. 17, 2007 in Ennis, MT.
Lauren is the daughter of Mike and Karen Hall, formerly of Gilroy. She attended Notre Dame High School and Montana State University. She is currently employed with Manntana Quarter Horses.
Tryg is the son of Paul Koch and Sharon Koch of Kalispell, MT. He attended Montana State Northern. He is the owner of Heritage Custom Farming and a hunting and fishing guide.
The couple took a Caribbean cruise honeymoon and now reside in Kalispell, MT.

Kevin Mullen
Spc. Kevin Mullen of Hollister recently returned from serving 1 year, 3 months in Iraq with the Third Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, GA.
Kevin is the son of Barry and Luz Mullen and brother of Kyle Mullen of Hollister. He is a 2005 graduate of San Andreas High School.
WEDDING
Ownbey/Recht
Sara Danielle Ownbey and Stanley David Recht were married Feb. 23, 2008 at United Methodist Church in Hollister.
Sara is the daughter of Diane Castaneda of Hollister and Ronnie Ownbey of Gilroy, and the granddaughter of Hope Castaneda of Hollister and Shirley Ownbey of Gilroy. She is a 2006 graduate of San Benito High School.
Stanley is the son of Pamela and David Recht of Hollister, and grandson of Marylee Recht of Hollister and Delores Willaman of Reno, Nev. He is a 2003 graduate of San Benito High School.
A reception was held at Bolado Park. The couple's first dance was to Brad Paisley's "Little Moments," and at Sara's request, her and her father danced to Bob Carlisle's "Butterfly Kisses." A slideshow was shown of Sara and Stan's childhood and teen years, as well as their courtship.
The couple honeymooned in Carmel and Monterey and now reside in Hollister.
