Hunt/Grio

Hannah Carissa Hunt and Greg Matthew Grio became engaged on Christmas Eve 2007.

Hannah is the daughter of Mark and Deborah Hunt of Watsonville. She is a 2002 graduate of Monte Vista Christian School and is currently attending Cabrillo College to pursue a career as a registered dental hygienist. She will begin the Dental Hygiene Program in June and currently works at the dental office of Dr. Gilbert Grio.

Greg is the son of Thelma Grio of Gilroy and Joe Grio of Iloilo Island. He is a 1996 graduate of Gilroy High School, a 2004 graduate of CSUMB with a bachelor's degree in communications and a 2007 graduate of University of Medicine and Dentistry New Jersey with a bachelor's degree in nursing. He is currently pursuing a nursing career.

The couple will wed after Hannah graduates from the Dental Hygiene Program.

WEDDING

Ownbey/Recht

Sara Danielle Ownbey and Stanley David Recht were married Feb. 23, 2008 at United Methodist Church in Hollister.

Sara is the daughter of Diane Castaneda of Hollister and Ronnie Ownbey of Gilroy, and granddaughter of Hope Castaneda of Hollister and Shirley Ownbey of Gilroy. She is a 2006 graduate of San Benito High School.

Stanley is the son of Pamela and David Recht of Hollister, and grandson of Marylee Recht of Hollister and Delores Willaman of Reno, Nev. He is a 2003 graduate of San Benito High School.

A reception was held at Bolado Park. The couple's first dance was to Brad Paisley's "Little Moments," and at Sara's request, her and her father danced to Bob Carlisle's "Butterfly Kisses." A slideshow was shown of Sara and Stan's childhood and teen years, as well as their courtship.

The couple honeymooned in Carmel and Monterey and now reside in Hollister.

HONORS

Katerina Cinkova

Katerina Cinkova, a sophomore in the School of International Service at American University majoring in international studies, was named to the fall 2007 Dean's List. Cinkova is a resident of Morgan Hill. To earn Dean's List, a student must obtain a 3.5 GPA or better on their semester courses.

Kevin Collins

Air Force Airman Kevin M. Collins has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

During the six weeks of training, the airman studied the Air Force mission, organization, and military customs

and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches, and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises, and special training in human relations.

He is the son of Jessica and Jeff Mello of Gilroy and a 2005 graduate of Gilroy High School.

Aiyana Marie Rodriguez was born April 8, 2008 at Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital to Rosario Riesgo and Tomas Rodriguez of Hollister. She weighed 6 pounds, 14 ounces.

Erin Grace-Michelle Brewer Critchfield

Erin Grace-Michelle Brewer Critchfield was born April 6, 2008 at Watsonville Hospital to Stacy Brewer and Derek Critchfield or Watsonville. She weighed 6 pounds, 11 ounces.
